What the publisher has announced

The release is set for Thursday, 19 November 2026. Rockstar published this date on 6 November 2025, after an earlier plan that targeted 26 May 2026: it is therefore the second announced date, and the only one that stands today.

The game launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those are the only two platforms the publisher names; previous-generation consoles are not part of it.

Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026. Rockstar stated that buyers of pre-ordered digital versions will be able to start pre-loading on 12 November, a week before release, so they can play the moment it unlocks.

Extra content, the Vintage Vice City Pack, comes with purchases made before 20 November.

What has not been announced

There is no announcement of a PC version: no date, no window, no mention. The publisher's previous games did reach PC after their console release, but a precedent is not an announcement, and we will not present it as one. Until Rockstar publishes something, the honest answer to "when is GTA 6 on PC" is that nobody knows.

The install size has not been published. It usually appears on storefront listings a few days before release, sometimes on the day itself; we will record it wherever it appears, with its source.

No system requirements have been published, which follows logically from the absence of an announced PC version.

Nothing has been published about an online mode available at launch. Here too, the publisher's history offers landmarks, but it does not replace an announcement.

Exact unlock times were not the subject of any publisher communication. They do appear on storefront product pages, country by country: we recorded them one by one, and they are not identical everywhere.

Why the distinction matters

As a release of this size approaches, the gap widens between what has been published and what circulates. A PC date quoted by one site, picked up by a second, ends up looking like information although it never had a source.

Our rule is simple: a statement without a public source is not written here. When the publisher has said nothing, we write that it has said nothing, and this page updates on the day it speaks.
